PROVENANCE INFORMATION
Acquired by the present owner from Estelle Costello, mother of Andre Costello, to whom the piece is dedicated and made in collaboration with. Costello, whom Haring was dating, owned a wood shop in his garage in Queens, where the sculpture was made. Costello produced the carpentry, Haring - the design, drawing, painting, and carving. The sculpture remained on display in Costello’s bedroom until his death in 1991. The present lot is accompanied by a letter from Estelle Costello (copy available upon request).
