Description
A large Roman glass two-handled bottle, c. 2nd - 3rd Century AD, the body nearly cylindrical with deeply indented base, the neck narrow with flared mouth and outward rolled rim, a large handle at each side trailed in glass the same color as the body. H: 8 1/4 in (20.8 cm). A well-preserved example with light surface deposits. Ex collection of Hugh D. Farley, formed between 1954 and 1956, in Beirut while working as the Director of the US Foreign Aid Program.
