A sizeable square platform serves as the basis for ornately carved backrest, and arm rails. Depicted is a double gourd vase holding ritualistic implements atop a raised dimple pattern. Encircling the focal carving is many Fu dogs playing with over flowing ribboned XiuQiu ball. Just below the seat the perimeter is emblazoned with fine chisel work from a master craftsman. This chair stands on four sturdy legs that are braced by three angular beams and a footrest. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.
