Divine Ming Xuande blue pear vase. A Substantial rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a slender neck, with a slightly concave foot base. The exterior is delicately decorated with hand painted five-claws imperial-blue dragon amidst sparse Li-Shui wave, and cloud formations. Waves are known to serve as the dragons abode, with the dragon representing the Emperor and imperial household. Dragon Long is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fertility. The underside foot rim left unglazed, with pale-creme base spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The receded base left white underglaze. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous.
