Details: This is 1932 Waterman's Autograph Album with 38 signatures.
Young Jimmy Rolak of La Mesa, California, entered this book into the Waterman Pen Company autograph contest in 1932. Although the accompanying letter tells us he was not a winner, he collected autographs from famous people such as Franklin D. Roosevelt as governor of New York and Daniel Beard, one of the first National Scout Commissioners of the Boy Scouts. Also present are signatures of several state governors, including 27th Governor of California, James Rolph, composers and "Olympic Champions".
This contest was held by the Waterman Pen Company encouraging children to collect autographs as a hobby. The letter states that the album was worthy of Honorable Mention and contains the list of the winners
The book measures approx. 7 1/4" x 5 1/8".
Condition / Notes: This antique volume shows mild to moderate signs of exterior age/wear with age toning and edgewear. The boards show bright and clean. The interior pages show mild age toning to the page edges.
