One of the most complete works on mineral waters. It also describes Vesuvius and Etna. It was a huge success, witnessed by the many editions, which continued until 1711. The result of long reconnaissance among the classical authors, contains a large amount of information on the then most known hydrotherapeutic sources; from the point of view of the history of chemistry, the parts dedicated to the chemical substances and to the mineral salts contained in the water are interesting; there is also the bitumen, the oil, the composition of the various lands.
