American Artist and Sculptor ELMO GIDEON Paintings on Glass of WWII Paris, France street scenes that he recalled while serving as a U.S. Army Ranger Corporal with the 66th Black Panther Division in Europe during the war. They each measure 9 1/4" X 11 1/4" including their original frames. Gideon's medium consisted of two sheets of glass and a background hardboard. The street scenes come alive with the inspiring depth of his painting. He is most widely known for his award winning Holocaust Collection of art. These two works of art have been in a private collection until recently and have never been offered for sale at auction. Each painting is signed by the artist and have been verified as original and authentic. Gideon was born in 1924, traveled the world and after a lengthy illness passed away Dec. 21, 2010 at his home and studios in Thomasville, Georgia.
