Description
Mid-century stoneware sculpture/object by Frans Wildenhain (1905 –1980). 11" tall by 9" diameter. "FW" mark. No condition issues.
Wildenhain was a Bauhaus-trained German potter and sculptor, who taught for many years at the School for American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. His life and work is covered in the book “Frans Wildenhain 1950-1970 Creative and Commercial American Ceramics at Mid-Century” by Bruce Austin.
