Description
This is an original family owned lot. 12 1/2" Door of Hope Groom doll. (All original with the exception of his missing hat). Provenance: Patricia Johnston Hayward had a deep and abiding faith which was central to her life. As a child, she supported missions such as The Door of Hope in Shanghai, China. She was given this doll as a gift from them. In the 1930's (12) napkins and matching tea cloth were brought from China by the Missionaries of the Door of Hope and given to her mother, Grace Palmer Johnston, as a gift for their support and caring. The 12" Cloth doll was also given to Patricia for her continued support in later years. Condition: minor age discoloration on tablecloth.
