Jiri Anderle (b. 1936, Czech Republic) Drypoint Etching. Signed and numbered 2 of 50 in pencil by the Artist. A sketch of Arthur Schopenhauer who was a German philosopher. He is best known for his 1818 work The World as Will and Representation, wherein he characterizes the phenomenal world as the product of a blind and insatiable metaphysical will. Unframed, sheet measures 25"x19". Image 13"x14 1/2". Anderle graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He worked as an assistant lecturer at the Academy of Art and Design in Prague.
