A Himalayan Tibetan gilt bronze statue of Dorje Legpa, the guardian of the Revealed Treasure Tradition (Terma). Gilding with red and dark painted details. Depicting Dorje Legpa riding a lion sideways, with three heads and six arms,ferocious facial expression topped by a wide-brimmed hat. On a copper alloy base.7" x 6" x 3". 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 2" (w/o base). Provenance: From the collection of Richard Smith. Purchased from Harmer Rooke, New York, in 1986.With original receipt.
