(lot of 2) David Hayes (American, 1931 - 2013), Carnivore, circa 1958, bronze sculpture, overall: 34"h x 52"w x 20"d, and double-sided watercolor study on paper, 1959, signed and dated lower right, sheet (overall): 11.25"h x 15.25"w. Provenance: Collection of Peter Selz (Berkeley, California). Mr. Selz taught at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1965-1988 where he concurrently served as founder and director of the university art museum from 1965-1973. Before joining UC Berkeley, Selz served as Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York from 1958-1965.
