Item Details

Description

A Pacific Fast Mail import from Japan of a Shay logging locomotive with a prototype of the Harrington Lumber Company. This is a standard gauge version of the 25 ton Shay locomotive. It has a neat clerestory roof on the cab and good detail. This geared locomotive runs pretty well and has some slight hesitation. The finish is the real dark chocolate brown that is sometimes found on older PFM brass models. It could use a cleaning and lube. More weight always helps too. The Shay geared locomotive can handle steep grades and was typically used for logging or mining. It has its original box and foam with flat black foam top piece. It has been in plastic wrap for years.
