Description
Although all open-mouthed dolls, they are all excellent quality and of desirable sizes. The largest two are 15-1/2" tall, one marked "JDK 249" which is often referred to as "Hilda’s Older Sister". She is on a very nice, pink, fully jointed body and wears antique clothing, shoes and wig made of dark brown human hair with side part. The other 15-1/2†doll is attributed to Kammer & Reinhardt but possibly made for Kestner, and is a girl with a red cape incised "192" with blue glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth on a fully articulated German wood and composition body, wearing a nice antique blond mohair wig, antique dotted Swiss organdy, cotton and lace dress, with a red wool, waist-length cape and antique white leather shoes. The third doll made by Handwerck is 14-1/2" and incised "79 Germany" with sleep eyes and an open mouth with four upper teeth, on a nice quality original wood and composition body. She wears antique clothing and an organdy knee-length pinafore and a blond human hair wig with a lace cap. The smallest doll is a quite adorable 10" Kestner incised "149". She has brown glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth, and is on a very nice fully jointed composition body with straight wrists, nicely dressed and wearing her antique blond mohair wig over plaster pate. She is missing one shoe and very much resembles the "143". The only issue is that the little "149" has an old hairline in the back of the head but it does not extend into the face and it is not easily seen unless on shines a light in the back of the head. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: Largest: 15 - 1/2" T.
