Description
Sweet 13-1/2" closed mouth Bebe with pressed bisque head incised only at base of neck in back "5". She has almond eye cuts with brown paperweight eyes, closed mouth with slight space between the painted lips, pierced earlobes, well-painted brows and lashes. Head is attached by a coil spring to the original early wood and composition body with straight wrists and eight separate ball joints at the elbows, shoulders, hips and knees. On the back of the torso is the blue stamp "Jumeau Medaille DĆ¢ā¬ā¢Or Paris". Body is in good condition with original finish. The doll has been re-costumed in 1880's style by Shirley Darmohray and tag still hangs from the wrist, bearing all the information from the marker of this costume. Tag states it is pure silk with cotton velveteen antique lace over the skirt. The wig over old French hard cardboard pate is 1960's era honey brown mohair with a hat that matches the vest of the costume. Shoes are antique but not as old as the doll, however, they fit well and are of a good style and material. Condition: Dimensions: 13 - 1/2" T. CORRECTION: Repaired eye chip, hairline to bisque head
