Description
A nice Byzantine gold Solidus of Heraclius, AD 510 - 641. A nice ancient Byzantine gold coin struck at Constantinople, 6th Officina, and depicts Heraclius, with Heraclius Constantine and Heraclonas, his two sons, each holding a globus cruciger. The reverse reads VICTORIA AV?YS, cross potent on steps, monogram and K in fields, CNONB in exergue. (19 mm, 4.26g). In choice condition. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
