Description
CONFEDERATE STATES CIVIL WAR CURRENCY / BANK NOTES, LOT OF THREE, comprising a Type 55 $1 "1st Series" note, a Type 70 $2 note, and a Type 53 $5 Series 9 note, each engraved by Keatinge & Ball, Columbia, SC, the first example with issue date April 6, 1863, the latter two with issue date February 17th, 1864. Under glass in modern frame. 1863 and 1864. Frame 7 1/2" x 25 7/8" OA.
Good to very good condition overall, expected fading, some minor creases, Type 70 example with a tear to left edge, some minute tears to bottom edge, some minor stains, and a few minor holes to center. Not examined out of frame.
