Description
1724 1ed English Civil War Gilbert Burnet History of Own Time British Charles II

Gilbert Burnet was an important 17th-century Scottish historian whose works were highly influential and have remained important references into the 20th-century. He published two major works covering the history of the Reformation as well as a political and military history of Great Britain. The latter, entitled ‘History of My Own Time’, gives a sketch of the history of English Civil Wars, the discussions that lead to the peace treaties and the Treaty of Utrecht, as well as the reigns of British royals, Charles II, James II, Queen Mary, Queen Anne, and more.

The first volume of this two volume first edition was published in 1724 with the second tome not being completed until ten years later in 1734.
