Description

A Very Rare and Original 925 Sterling Silver Coach Lantern that was used as a lantern on horse and carriage many years ago. The top portion would clip and there is a place to insert a candle. There is an engraving on the Sterling Silver marked on the silver is the makers mark of Metcalf & Co. 8. Pall Mall S.W. More markings include JB London Q. Crafted in London in between 1843 and 1871. Weighs 463 grams (approximately 16.2 ounces). When opened it is 11.5 inches high, closed it is 5.5 inches high. It is 2.75 inches wide and 2 inches deep. In Perfect Condition. A very nice curiosity.
