Description
Early 19th century William Thomson 4 piece tea service comprised of a teapot, covered sugar, creamer, and open waste vessel. All items monogrammed with ball and claw feet, floral chased borders, and wheat sheaf finials (when applicable). Especially handsome bird form spout on teapot. Stamped to underside of each piece, "W Thomson" in rectangular cartouche - representative of William Thomson (New York, active 1810-1833). Total approx. weight of 95.18 troy oz. From a New Canaan, CT estate. Dimensions: open waste vessel measures approx. 6.5" diameter x 4.675" h.
Condition
All items monogrammed with light surface scratches, and minor dings/dents. Multiple dings to a single lobe of covered sugar.
