American Classical Mahogany Tilt-Top Stand

ca. 1825, New York, the single-board top on a tripodal base with a leaf-carved vasiform pedestal, joined to three legs with like carving and paw feet.
h. 29", h. with top raised 43-1/2", w. 26-1/2", d. 19-1/2"

In very good refinished and restored condition. The single-board top exhibits a filled shrinkage crack, extending in about 7" from one end. There is also a shrinkage crack visible on the underside of the top that does not extend through its thickness. The pedestal base is tight and sturdy. The latch mechanism functions. Toes intact.
