This lot consists of a HAND SIGNED and Numbered fine art print on paper, hand signed 'Francis Bacon' and numbered '70/100'. Against a forbidding background of pure black, the blurred, almost nightmarish face of an eyeless young man is depicted head-on. The subject appears to be well dressed, with a starched collar, a tie, and neatly coiffed hair. His face, however, is a surreal conglomerate of dark tones - green, burgundy, black. Harsh highlights accentuate the artist's smeared (yet deliberate) disproportions. This piece was created in the grotesque Expressionist style of Modern Artist Francis Bacon (British-Irish, 1902-1992). Overall excellent condition. Image is depressed into the paper indicating plate marks. Overall measures 8.5" x 11.5".
