This lot consists of a Fine Art Print on paper, Hand Signed "R Lichtenstein" and Hand Labeled "A.P." [Artist's Proof]. The image portrays a bitterly weeping young woman, face downturned, buried in her sorrows. The comforting hand of an anonymous stranger extends from out of sight. The nudity of both figures creates an instant intimacy within the image, infusing the entire scene with tangible emotion. Though the use of color is restrained, even minimal, the ample amount of pop art influence and comic book flair remains in line with the high-impact modern style of contemporary artist Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997). Piece measures approximately 8" x 11.5".
