This lot consists of a Hand Drawn red chalk illustration for engraving, done on paper, Hand Signed "Huet" at bottom left. Image depicts a comfortable interior scene. A pretty barefoot woman gives instruction to two small children, while a cat rests happily at her feet. The artist has loaded this scene with familliar accents: decorations on the mantle in the next room, fruits and vegetables tumbling from a basket on the floor. There is no shortage of detail or intimacy in this lovely image. Presumably done as a preparatory drawing for a later engraving. Done in the style of Christophe Huet (French, 1700-1759). Piece measures approximately 8.5" x 11.5".

Overall excellent condition for its age. Slight toning and foxing is visible at top left edge of paper, as well as a crease to the right side. The lines remain vibrant and the scene is an outpouring of family affection. Please view photos for further reference.
