DESCRIPTION: An antique English walnut Davenport desk. Features a walnut wooden foundation inlaid with symmetrical, winding floral motif cartouches and concentric square outlinings. Carved along the rounded feet with scrolled acanthus leaves tapering up to an acanthus leaf capital supporting the desk top. The sloped desk top is garnished with a hand tooled leather panel with gilded floral motifs. Opens to reveal a storage compartment with two pull drawers. Finished along the back with a brass openwork rail lined compartment as well as four faux drawers along the left and 4 real pull drawers along the right. Fitted with wheels that have been added after the fact. Key opens to the desk top and 4 side panels but does not open the back panel lined by brass.
