Description
DESCRIPTION: Pochette type violin labeled "Giorgio Bairhoff fecit, Napoli 1782". Probably German made. Circa 1900. Full sized made without corners in hour glass shape with narrow bouts. Table is fine grain spruce. Back is two-piece finely flamed maple from neck to bottom. Fingerboard is dyed rosewood. Bridge stamped "Jan Kuzel Brno". Orange-brown varnish. With appraisal from Reese Williams. MEASUREMENTS: 24". CONDITION: Table with two repaired saddle cracks. "M.M." scratched into varnish in the upper bass side bout. LIght surface wear. Includes vintage case.
