Property of a private corporation. Acquired by the latter from a Los Angeles collector who purportedly purchased this and other works from artist, Richard Bernstein. Richard Bernstein worked for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine and famously created the magazine's covers for nearly 20 years. The Los Angeles collector met Bernstein through a mutual friend who also worked at Interview Magazine. It is unclear how Bernstein may have acquired the drawings, although the Los Angeles collector suggested that Bernstein acquired them in the early 1980's from a close friend or associate of Andy Warhol's who knew Basquiat.

Good aged condition: smudges surface accretions irregular edges paper from prior hinges adhered to reverse and visible on front.
