Lot includes large theatre broadside for "The Forty Thieves." [Boston]: D. Hooton, 1840. 18.5" x 12". Some soiling (from handling), creased as folded, creases with some closed tears tending toward margins, attractive overall with only mild toning. The Boston Theatre was established by William Pelby and operated between 1836 and 1863. *** SOLD WITH *** A collection of 18 illustrations from the "Punch" publication, mid 1800s. 4to leaves with exception of one being double-page. Some toning, light handling, some marginal chips, most Very Good. The satirical illustrations deal with American issues, particularly the Civil War and American & British relations.
