An exquisite Victorian star brooch pendant, set with diamonds and seed pearls, in 9K gold, England, circa 1870's - 1900's.
The expertly crafted 9 karat yellow gold setting, in the shape of a star, has been bezel set with 9 round old European cut diamonds totaling, approximately, 2.4 carats. The central gem is 0.80 carats and has very good color (E - G) and clarity (VVS). The other 8 diamonds are each 0.20 carats with very good color (E - G) and clarity (VVS - VS). Complementing them are 118 round, white, seed pearls measuring between 1 - 3 mm.
The brooch is in excellent antique condition, showing only expected signs of wear. It has only been lightly cleaned in order to maintain its patina. It weighs approximately 12.58 grams and measures 1.38 inches (3.5 cm) by 1.38 inches (3.5 cm). It is not hallmarked but tested positive for 9Kt gold.
