Description
Leon-Victor Dupre (French, 1816-1879). Titled 'River Landscape with Cattle' on a tag affixed to the reverse, and was called 'Cattle Grazing at Sunset' when it was sold by Sotheby's in New York in 2008. Pastoral scene of cattle near a small pond and house. Signed 'Victor Dupre 1879' in the lower left corner. Measures 13.5 x 22 inches, in a 23 x 30.5 inch frame. Includes a 'V. Dupre' plate affixed to frame. Provenance: Jack Kilgore & Co., New York. Sotheby's (New York) Old Master and 19th Century European Art, 1.26/08.
