EXCEPTIONAL, RARE, GEORGE III TIME MUSIC PENDULUM
SIGNATURE OF THOMAS BEST, ATTRIBUTED TO JAMES COX, LONDON, THIRD QUARTER OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY
In chiseled and gilded bronze, plates of agate and rhinestones, decorated with foliage, flowers, staples, piastres and masks, the white enameled dial carried upon a bull surrounded by two Chinese characters, resting on a box centered with a rosette supported by four dragons enclosing a sphere, placed on a box containing a musical mechanism supported by four elephants, the Movement signed, The Best / LONDON / 137 "and numbered P 20 1
