Chairs with wooden structure and leather seat, circa 1910 designed by Giacomo Cometti.
Giacomo Cometti (turin 1863 – 1938) was an italian sculptor, furniture designer and cabinet maker. In 1981 he started his training at the Albertina academy of fine arts in Turin. In the following years Cometti started to work with Leonardo Bistolfi. the collaboration lasted for over twenty years. Beside sculpting Giacomo Cometti was active in the field of the decorative and applied arts and in the cabinet-making. He was a big fan of liberty style, for which he received the honor medals in Paris (1900), in Milan (1906) and Antwerp (1894). Cometti was influenced by english arts and crafts movement.
