EGYPTIAN USHABTI TERRACOTTA FUNERARY FIGURE Also called a shabti, used primarily in the 21st Dynasty of Egypt (1069 – 945 B.C.); These figures were placed in the tomb with the deceased and were used as servants for the deceased should they be called to do manual labor in the afterlife, the name of the deceased was to be inscribed in hieroglyphics on the Ushabti, along with the words from the 6th Chapter of the Book of the Dead. This Ushabti has what appears to be a priest’s headdress and is holding 2 whips, hieroglyphics inscribed on the lower portion of the figure. Item is sold as is, where is. ; Condition - Some damage consistent with age ; Measures: 7.5"H x 2.5"W
