Suite of Eight George III-Style Mahogany Dining Chairs

19th century, in the Adam taste, consisting of one armchair and seven side chairs, each with a shield-form back with Prince of Wales feathers carved splat, above a padded seat, raised on tapering square legs joined by an H-form stretcher and ending in spade feet.

In good "as found" condition, with an older refinish, past restorations, and normal mars, abrasions, shrinkage and wear. Some scuffing to the surface. One chair is very slightly loose at the joint of the stiles and seat rails. All others are sturdy at that point, as are the legs. Once cross stretcher is loose and needs a spot of glue. One front leg is missing the front face of its spade foot. The upholstery exhibits staining from minor to severe. The seat cushions beneath the upholstery are still firm and well formed.
