Description
ANTIQUE TROUSSEAU ARTICLES, LOT OF FOUR, including an ecru muslin short wedding nightgown, linen bonnet, and pair of ivory-colored leather button shoes with blue silk bows. Together with a black bonnet, two day bonnets, and a nightcap. Eight pieces total. Fourth quarter 19th century/early 20th century.
Good condition, discoloration and staining, one shoe button missing top, one inside shoe, all others intact. Bonnets and nightcap in fair to excellent condition, with stains, pinholes, and loss of silk and general structure on one bonnet.
Provenance: Property of the Virginia Quilt Museum.
Catalogue Note: Shoes with note attached from Troy, New York which reads "Shoes belonging to and worn by Clara Anne Raiff-Kuhn, Given to Alice Fritts by Aunt Alice Kuhn-Hoff. Sept. 1941".
