ASSORTED MEN'S AND WOMEN'S ACCESSORIES, LOT OF 16, comprising six pairs of early Victorian silk stockings in pink, copper, ivory, off-white, peach, and grey, in various patterns, some with embroidered accents; one pair black fingerless mitts with embroidered accents; a Regency Era stomacher with MESDA description "a white cotton stomacher, decorated with triple rows of tucking alternated with four scalloped inserts which are decorated with eyelet work and small embroidered leaves. Six cloth tape strings were tied near the waist and around each arm to secure this garment, New York"; one brown and ivory silk fringed man’s handkerchief. Circa 1815 and 1850. Mitts approximate glove size 6, handkerchief 41" x 42".
Stockings in good to excellent condition, a few with period mends and runs, otherwise clean and bright; mitts in excellent condition with one or two small breaks at the end of the fingers; stomacher ln excellent condition with six tiny pinholes, otherwise clean; handkerchief in very good condition with moderate stains and a few weak areas in silk.
