Description
A Persian-Jewish ritual bowl of tinned copper, Qajar, 19th - early 20th Century, the bowl broad and shallow, with a conical, dome-shaped projection in the center. An inscription is engraved around this dome reading: ‘Kodesh leva(?) an shalom genni halevi na’. It appears to have been cast then turned to shape and is heavy, the flat foot quite worn from use. Dia: 6 3/16 in (15.7 cm), H: 1 ¾ in (4.5 cm). Ex Los Angeles private collection.
