AN AUTOGRAPHED DOCUMENT SIGNED BY NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST AS PRESIDENT, SELMA, MARION, MEMPHIS RAILROAD COMPANY, SEPTEMBER 1, 1869, the First Mortgage Eight Percent Bond for the sum of $1,000, number 139, endorsed by the State of Alabama, countersigned by Alpheus Monroe Fowlkes as Secretary, with attached coupons numbered eight through 40 signed by Fowlkes, the reverse with second signature of Nathan Bedford Forrest and signature of William Hugh Smith, Governor of Alabama, together with handwritten account balance signed by a register (name illegible), embossed corporate seal, framed with biographical information and image of Lieutenant General of the Army of the Confederate States of America Nathan Bedford Forrest.
