JOHN GOULD (British 1804-1881) and HENRY CONSTANTINE RICHTER (British 1821-1902) A GROUP OF THREE PRINTS, "Lefresnaya Flavicaudata (Buff-tailed Velvet-breast, plate 85)," "Heliodoxa Jamesoni (Jameson's Brilliant, plate 95)," and "Phlogophilus Hemileucurus (Pied-tailed Hummingbird, plate 360)," circa 1849-1861, comprising plates 85, 95, and 360 of John Gould's "Monograph of the Trochilidae" or "Family of Humming Birds" published in London between 1849 and 1861, printed by Hullmandel & Walton (plates 85 and 95) and Walter & Cohn (plate 360). Hand colored lithographs on paper with gold leaf, signed in the plate LL, framed, each with corresponding printed description from original folio. Sheet: 21 1/2" x 14 3/4". Framed: 32 1/2" x 24 1/4". Provenance: The Hayden-Hays Gallery, The Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Plate 85; minor toning of paper stock, minor buckle/wrinkle of paper, colors overall strong, sheet with printed description with ragged left margin from removal from folio, tear along right side, arched line of heavy toning. Plate 95: minor toning of paper stock, minor buckle/wrinkle of paper, colors overall strong, sheet with printed description with ragged left margin from removal from folio, Plate 360; minor toning of paper stock, upper right corner with area of heavier toning, minor buckles and wrinkles of paper, colors overall strong, sheet with printed description with arched line of heavy toning, upper right corner with hole and dent.
