Description

A SET OF THREE GEORGE II STYLE CARVED WALNUT DINING CHAIRS, 19TH CENTURY, the double arched crest rail centering a finely carved scrolled shell above a relief carved bellflower bloom, over an acanthus leaf vasiform vertical splat centering scrolling ends, above a dramatically serpentine slip seat, raised on scrolling, fanned shell carved knee cabriole legs, terminating in claw and ball feet. Height: 41 1/2" Width: 20" Depth: 18"

Condition

A later varnish and rosewood faux bois paint decoration is apparent throughout, abrasions, scratches, dents, and wear throughout. One seat support has been restored. The back and seat joints have loosened some. In fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
