Description
A LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912) STYLE ROSEWOOD MARBLE TOP PLANT STAND, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, CHINA, the inset, circular, highly figured rose marble, over a pierced lozenge frieze, above a pierced carved, arched skirt with repeating cloud motifs, centering lotus flower blooms within scrolling tendrils, joined to four chrysanthemum capitals, over legs carved with stems issued from swirling clouds, terminating in claw and ball feet; the marble top underside with inscribed characters. Height: 18 3/4" Diameter: 16 1/4"
Condition
There is some wiggle to the table. Dulling of marble polish. Mild joint shifting, some expected surface wear with occasional mild chips and losses to carving, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
