MARK TIDDEMAN (ENGLISH, 18TH CENTURY) MAP OF EASTERN VIRGINIA, hand-colored, on laid paper, cartouche in lower left corner lettered "A Draught of / VIRGINIA / from the Capes of YORK in YORK RIVER and / to Kuiquotan or Hamton in JAMES RIVER / by Mark Tiddeman / Sold by W. & I. Mount, and T. Page on Tower Hill, LONDON". Unframed. Mark Tiddeman (active c. 1724 to c. 1760); publishers William & John Mount, and Thomas Page. Second half 18th century. 18 5/8" x 23 1/4" OA.
Good condition overall, expected fold-lines, some fading throughout, some scattered foxing or stains, discoloration along central fold-line, hand-colored decoration possibly later; archival paper backing.
Provenance: Property Deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, Virginia. All proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisitions Fund.
