Description
Colored pencil on paper laid on wood, rotunda mural study (untitled) in two parts - 17.5" high x 4" wide & 7.5" high x 4" wide, some buckling to paper, light retouching in white of smaller panel, otherwise good. Two colored pencil on paper laid on wood studies - overall - 10.75" high x 4" wide each, in good conditon with some light scuffs. Shaped print on canvas laid on wood maquette - 25" high x 7" wide x 2.5" deep, some discoloration to image along edges. Abraham Joel Tobias (American, 1913 - 1996) was a painter, muralist, and educator in New York City and the pioneer of shaped canvases in the 1930's. From the Rego Park, Queens, NY estate of the artist.
