Description

South East Asia,17th-Early 18th Century
Decorated with banded archaic concentric designs throughout with center star medallion and three tier figural frog handles on a waisted base with loop handles. When compared to the later example, the drum exhibits a hand tooled construction utilizing a thinner hammered and spun bronze with chased decoration. Notice the natural variations within each banded pattern and chatter marks on underside of top. The drum weighs 32.3 lbs, 10.4 lbs heavier than the earlier example in our catalog.
