Important halachic work on the laws of treifahs, printed in many editions. The book's author also wrote Ohel Yitzchak. With the approbations of Rabbi Mordechai Bennett, Rabbi Moshe Mintz, the Chatam Sofer, and more.
Rabbi Yitzchak son of Rabbi Eliezer of Munkatsch [c. 1760-1830] authored Lekitat Yitzchak, later changed to Ohel Yitzchak [Lvov 1819]. This book, which bears the approbations of the greatest of his generation, including the Chatam Sofer and the Yismach Moshe, has become a useful and scholarly tool for ritual slaughterers, and is prevalent in dozens of editions. He likewise wrote the book Beit Yitzchak [Ofen, 1827] as a useful tool for teachers of the laws of treifahs, including practical instructions by Rabbi Shimon Oppenheim of Kromau, rabbi and dayan in Pest. Part two of Beit Yitzchak on the laws of salting, meat and dairy, and mixtures [Pest 1860] was published posthumously.
