Two Northwest Native American Tlinget Baskets, Early 20th C.: 1) A Twined berry basked of flaring cylindrical form with three bands of stepped and chevron design in yellow, green, brown, and orange alternating to accent specific elements. Closed twined spruce root with dyed bear grass false embroidery. A couple of splits at rim. Size: 5.5'' x 8'' x 8'' (14 x 20 x 20 cm); 2) A Twined basket of flaring cylindrical form with two bands of fret design in yellow and orange alternating to suggest the numerals "25". Close twined spruce root with dyed bear grass false embroidery. Size: 7'' x 8'' x 8'' (18 x 20 x 20 cm). Provenance: The Estate of Mary Bert Gutman, Pennsylvania.
