Description
[New England] Northern sheet of a 2-sheet map of New England, 1760 or later. Includes a printed notice related to areas that are now part of Vermont: “Note/ Connecticut River is fixed by his Majesty in Council to be the Bounds between New York and New Hampshire. The Townships coloured Yellow, were granted by the Government of New Hampshire.” Inset of Boston includes a table with dates ending in 1760. Also shows municipal boundaries in New Hampshire and some parts of Massachusetts, including “Eastern Part of Massachusets Bay.” Map labels are mostly in French and partly in English. 19 1/2 x 37 in. Frame: 28 x 45 3/4 in. Orig outline hand coloring. Dampstain to upper left. Matted, under glass. Not examined out of frame.
