Description
Floris Meydam (1919-2011) designed this very rare vase in 1953. He is one of the most famous Dutch glass designers, and is even known all over the world, just like the Leerdam glass factory itself. This very rare 'slinger vase' has a circulation of only 125 pieces, is signed and still in perfect condition. This vase was made of Cristal Superior, the purest type of crystal in Europe that was developed long ago and still used today for all glass art that is made in Leerdam glassworks. Leerdam Glassworks still makes glass art according to the already 250 years old mouth blown glass tradition. Cristal Superior is so clear and pure because it contains 30% lead, instead of 'normal' crystal which contains only 24% lead.
