Description
James Stokeld (UNITED KINGDOM, 1827 - 1877) original oil painting on canvas titled "Walking From the Well" depicting a woman with water pitcher and young man with walking stick in a landscape scene with a well seen to the lower right. Signed to lower left and dated 1863. Mounted in a gold tone wooden frame with musem name plaque to lower center. Canvas on stretcher measures approx. 30 1/4" height x 24" width. Measuresapprox. 36 7/8" height x 30 1/2" overall with frame. Provenance: acquired from a Boca Raton, Florida estate. Verso of stretcher bears a Schillay & Rehs, New York label.
