Description
PRESSED OCTAGONAL COVERED BOWL ON HIGH FOOT, colorless lead glass, eight-panel bowl with conforming scalloped rim, matching eight-panel cover with a ringed finial, raised on an eight-rib stem and three-step base with extended rounded corners, rough pontil mark, wafer construction. Patrick F. Slane's American Glass Co., East Cambridge/South Boston. 1835-1850. 6 3/4" HOA, 4 1/8" D base rim, 2 3/4" SQ base.
Good to very good condition overall with scattered chipping/flaking to the base edge including a moderate chip to one corner, cover with scattered chipping/flaking to the rim including one sizeable chip.
